The Buddies Children and young people have been working with a community junk artist, Sue Guildford, to produce outdoor artwork to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee.
We have had a wonderful messy time making Union Jack’s:
- Concrete Mushrooms, which have been painted Red, White and Blue
- Wooden cut-outs of Hedgehogs, Birds and Rabbits decorated with Union Jack design
- Painted rocks laid out in Union Jack design
- Wooden offcuts decorated with buttons in Union Jack
- Large pallets sized board featuring a coronation crown decorated with buttons, beads and bottle tops
- Willow flowers decorated with Red, White and Blue
The official unveiling of the Jubilee art project was a great success. The event combined with a Jubilee party involved a treasure hunt, games, a brass band and picnic lunch.
Everyone had a great time.
Thank you to everyone who helped especially the Cheshire Community Foundation for funding the project and Sue Guildford for all hard work with the project and to all the children and young people who helped create the fantastic artwork.
All the artwork is now displayed at Brereton Country Park for the general public to enjoy.
