**THIS MAY NOT GO AHEAD NOW (OR RESCHEDULED) DUE TO CORONAVIRUS**
Local children from Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts are all involved in this fantastic variety show and they have been rehearsing since October – every Sunday for the past 6 months.
Buddies were invited to a sneak preview of the children rehearsing yesterday – “absolutely fabulous!”
David Brough from the Gang Show has always supported Cheshire Buddies the main reason is because he has a step son that is disabled.
David is now doing a FUND RAISER for Buddies – he and his fellow friends Andy and Jake are having their LEGS WAXED too on Saturday 25th April!
HERE IS A MESSAGE FROM DAVE….
I have been involved with young people for over 20 years, helping them be the best that they can be and helping them to achieve things that they would not normally do, especially in a school environment. Scouting for me is all about life skills and how to look at things differently, being able to cope with changing situations and think of solving problems, usually to do with camping exploits and outdoors. The Buddies showed me that this is what you guys do for the children that don’t fall in to the main stream categories,
I saw that you were offering them this different way of thinking and developing themselves to be the best that they could be. Our Josh developed so much in your groups and loved being with you all. I always wanted to support you in what you do, and have helped in little ways over the years.
The Scouts Gang Show is a way of young people having a chance to perform on a stage where they would not usually have the opportunity or courage to do so, with this in mind I support the show by being on stage to be the interlude between the young people doing there bit, and sometimes being the Stooge and having people laugh at and with me. this led me to be in a sketch about the seaside and with this came the idea to have my legs waxed, I roped in Jake and Andy who are appearing with me in this sketch, and so we decided to raise the money for a charity and raise the profile of the gang show. to me, it was destined that I would combine the 2 things I find close to my heart, Scouting and Buddies.
I hope we raise some significant funds for you guys whilst promoting the Gang Show far and wide.
Many thanks to all the Buddies past, present and future for all you do.
