It’s Volunteer Week ! Cheshire Buddies would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to our wonderful volunteers for giving up your time to come and help out with activity clubs and outings. CCBS has over 20 volunteers who support 9 different activity clubs each week. Volunteers range in age from 15-68years. Volunteers give up from 8 hours a week to 5 hours a months. You can do as much or as little as you like! This is what our Buddies volunteers have said….. ‘ being a volunteer has helped me grow in confidence’ ‘I wanted to give something back to my community and came to help out with the Buddies – I definitely feel valued and actually privileged to be able to be with the children and young people ‘ ‘I have been a volunteer for a number of years – from school and then when home from uni – it’s amazing being a volunteer – I always have so much fun but I have learned so much too’ ‘ Volunteering has actually helped me in deciding my career path – it’s just a great feeling as well !’ ‘this week I have been canoeing, to the cinema and playing in the park with buddies and the children. No two weeks are ever the same and it is nice to be able to support the children and see them develop end improve in confidence. When I have had a bad day at work this helps me switch off completely’. Cheshire Buddies will be running a variety of exciting activities during the summer -we would love to hear from anyone that has some time to spare this summer! Even if it’s just a few hours a week volunteering helps you connect with your community, learn new skills, make new friends and even advance your career!!
