Thank you to the Oakhanger project and all the pupils and staff at Oaklands school in Winsford for making the Oaklands canoeing after school club a great success. All the young people have really enjoyed the sessions and have all gained new skills and confidence on the water.
Many of the young people have been surprised at how much they have enjoyed the sessions, despite the rain, wind and cold ( even though it is the middle of summer) the sessions have still taken place and all the young people have had a great time. The Oakhanger project has worked with disabled young people who have become ‘young leaders’ or Acorns and have gained qualifications in their own right. Canoeing will continue through out July and August for the Changing lives group ( disabled adults) and sibling young carers. For more information contact a member of the team.
