Goal: £150
DONATE NOW (via Facebook)

12 years ago myself and tony climbed Ben Nevis. We are hoping to do it again and asking for sponsors to raise money on September 8 for a wonderful charity that is very close to our hearts and supports children with disabilities & their families through activity clubs, holiday clubs, trips out and residentials.

100km/ 62 miles ULTRA MARATHON by Vicky Lawson

In Vicky’s words……
…..This fills me with great happiness……. I am running Race to the Castle on Saturday 28th May 2022. I have opted to run 100km/62 miles in one go, straight through from one place to another. Crazy right? why not, I like the adventure and the marvellous build up that I intend to endure.
I’m raising money for CHESHIRE BUDDIES , take a quick look at their Facebook page; even if it’s through the photos so you can see the happy adventures this organisation has brought to so many young people. One of which is my son Tommy Lawson, without this, Tommy’s life would undoubtedly be a struggle.  Cheshire Buddies bring total enrichment for these young people, their fun packed activities are endless!
The reason I don’t work a Friday is because it is dedicated to making sure I can provide Tommy with the empowerment to do something different.
I have helped Buddies at sessions, and it brings great reward to see these young people laugh and be part of a team , they otherwise wouldn’t get this opportunity.
For Cheshire Buddies to continue the good work, they need donations and i just would like to say THANK YOU to them by raising a few pounds to help them move forward.
The run itself is 100k,  I’ve attached a few photos, a couple of myself, one of the running coach that I use in Haslington. One of the routes and the castle at the finish. There’s a photo of all the details so the dates, the start and finish point.
I have only just in 2021 started running ultra-marathons having never done a marathon before. My first and only marathon to date was after my first ultra which was 50km so this time I’m doubling it.
If you would like to sponsor me or make a donation that would be fantastic
Every penny counts!!

Bobs 1237 Mile Cycle Challenge

Goal: £1000

I am proud to be a volunteer and a Trustee of Cheshire Buddies. The staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly to keep a number of activites going throughout the Pandemic, despite the various lockdowns and tier restrictions. One of the main annual activities is taking various groups away to a residential centre in North Yorkshire in September. The typical cost for this is £1000. So to support that, I have given myself the challenge of cycling a total of 1237 miles between November and next September.

Why 1237miles and how?

A good friend of mine is doing a virtual run from Lands End to John O Groats, (874 miles) based around various local runs he is doing. He started in October and is aimimng to finish next September. Im not a keen runner at all, but said I would join him in his virtual challenge, on my bike and as an extra, I would add the 363 miles from where I live in Nantwich to Lands End which gives me a target of 1237 miles.. We aim to do the last 10 miles to John O Groats on the real roads sometime next September.

I started in November, which has given me an average of just over 27 miles per week. So far I have been doing an 8 mile circuit around Ravensmoor, Acton and Nantwich, whenever I can. I will do longer trips as my stamina and the weather improves!
