CCBS Statement Regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

UPDATE: 01/04/2020

Suspension of activities

Like everyone across the country Cheshire Buddies have suspended their activities until after the lock down and until the schools return.

As we were delivering bags on Friday many young people were asking when the next club is. At the moment we are hoping to run the next Saturday club at the beginning of May and start all our other activity clubs after that. This will all depend on how the virus is spreading, whether the figures are dropping and government guidelines.

We are missing all the children we support and are all desperate to start running clubs again. We will be back when we can but in the mean time everyone stay safe.

UPDATE: 25/03/2020

Cheshire Buddies will be working very differently during this challenging time.

Cheshire Buddies will be supporting families that are in crisis and are here to help where possible with shopping, prescription collecting, food donations

We have been in contact with the Wishing Well and we are helping with hot dinner deliveries.

Buddies can help in anyway.
Buddies are also registered with a local food bank so that we can refer families to this service and help with deliveries using our Steve Morgan Bus
Buddies are here to help – Even for a chat!
Buddies will be posting helpful information intermittently.

As communities around the world are struggling with Coronavirus (COVID-19), The Buddies team wanted to reach out and address concerns about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the steps we’re taking as a charity supporting disabled children and young people to continue our focus on keeping people safe and healthy.

Our number one priority is the safety of the children and young people we support, employees and their families.

We have taken made the decision to continue to support disabled children and young people through trips and activities while the schools remain open. As soon as the government advise schools to close and the country is in lock down the Buddies will also be in lockdown until the all clear is given.

Any team member who is worried they have symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19) is encouraged to stay home in line with the latest guidelines. We ask you as a parent to inform the team if your child or young person has any of the symptoms of the virus. During trips and activities children are encouraged to thoroughly wash hands, antibacterial gels are being used through out sessions to ensure good hygiene practices are followed. The bus will received a regular deep clean through out the crisis.

We are closely monitoring the situation to make sure we are taking all precautions to protect our children, young people and colleagues alike.

Cheshire Buddies currently remains open for business.
