A few words from Bob on finishing his charity cycle challenge of 1237 miles today with 10 miles from Nantwich to Sandbach Park.
“I knew the buddies were having a Saturday club meeting in Sandbach park, but what a reception! 24 children, volunteers and Louise and Tori with banners, cheering me on. A sight that I will never forget and one that sums up why Buddies is such a great charity, bringing normality and sheer fun and joy to children and young people with a range of physical and learning disabilities. A charity I’m proud to be a volunteer and Trustee.
My journey of 1237 miles started last November as a virtual journey from home to Lands End and up to John O’Groats. Over the last 12 months, I’ve cycled around Cheshire as well as further afield in North Wales, Pembrokeshire and North Yorkshire as well as the odd 20 miles or so on fixed cycle machines in gyms and yes even a few on my e bike when the weather and/or roads got rough.
