June 2018 Newsletter – Fundraising and Activities

Colour run

Thank you to everyone at Crewe FC and Kindertons accident management for raising £2,500 for CCBS through the colour run on the 7th May.
The funding will be used for trips and activities for local disabled children and disabled adults over the summer.

Beach buddies

Thanks to funding from the Able child Trust and Equilibrium we will be launching a new group for summer called the beach buddies. The group will be collecting children from Springfield school every Thursday and taking them to the beach for a paddle and a play. The group will be crab fishing, visiting Crosby beach, Talacre and Prestatyn before the summer holidays. We will use our Steve Morgan Foundation mini bus to take the children out and about after school for fun on the beach.

Morrisons Bag pack

Central Cheshire Buddies will be in morrisons in Middlewich on Friday the 8th June from 10-2pm. We need a few parent carers to help support the changing lives group. If you can help please let us know. All money raised will be used to fund the summer holiday club for disabled children.

Asda Bag pack

Central Cheshire Buddies will be in Asda in Winsford on Saturday the 9th June from 10-4pm. we will be doing 2 shifts 10-1pm and 1-4pm. If you can help that would be great. All money raised will be used to support children with complex needs to attend the Wingate centre over the summer. Get intouch if you can help.

Clothes collection

Thank you to everyone who recently donated clothes to CCBS. We weighed them all in and raised £52 which was used for new messy play equipment for club, which will be used in the summer for water play and sand as well as some sensory stuff. Thank you to everyone who donated clothes. We will have another collection at the end of summer.

Summer activity programme is now out

The summer holiday activity programme is now out. We will be running holiday club every Wednesday during the summer every Wednesday in August. We will have a number of different activities going on throughout the summer including a day on a narrow boat, Trip on the Audlem lass, drumming, play day at Queens park, cycling at Wythenshwe, experiments and cooking.
We will be supporting children with complex needs all summer at the Wingate centre through activity sessions every Friday for more information contact a member of the team.

Donations needed

To help make our summer holiday club successful, we need donations to stretch our limited resources. In the past we have received Jam from Mrs Darlingtons, Ice cream from Snugburys, oats from Morn flakes, Bread and ginger breadmen from Roberts Bakery, Donations from Morrisons and Asda, paint and paper from Apex paper products. If you can donate anything including craft materials, food, juice etc We need foot balls, bubbles, toys, games, food, bread, juice, tea coffee etc please let a member of the team know if you can help.

Open day Thursday 16th August

Central Cheshire Buddy scheme in partnership with Kindertons accident management will be holding a fund raising open day on Thursday the 16th August at the Georges centre in Crewe there will be a bouncy castle, activities, stalls, bubble football, beat the goalie and loads more. If you would like to run a stall or have anything you would like to sell on a stall please let us know.

Lets grow project supported by bags of help

For the second year running CCBS has secured funding from the Tesco bags of help project to run an allotment this year we have teamed up with alternative futures to grow a range of fruit and vegetables. The team have been working hard on the allotment to get it ready to start growing. Any thing grown will be used to make soups and stews as well as jams and chutney. If you have any spare plants of seeds please let us know. We have quite a few sunflowers which are for sale at £1 each.
